"You don't have to go through it alone."

Do you ever say this to yourself ?
* " I don't feel like myself."
* "I am a terrible person and a terrible mother."
* "This is supposed to be the happiest time in my life. Why do I feel this way?"
* "I feel like I want to run away."
* "I sometimes feel like hurting myself and/or my baby."
* "Why do I have difficulty in relationships?"
* "I hate my body."
* "I feel stuck."
* "I feel overwhelmed."

I believe that in the instant women become mothers, an extraordinary thing happens. Women can experience overwhelming feelings of joy, amazement and euphoria, as well as fear, guilt, anxiety, worthlessness and hopelessness. Women can struggle between the dichotomy of what society idealizes as the "perfect mother" and what she is actually feeling and experiencing. I believe in the "true" or "good enough" mother, which recognizes and allows the reality of experiencing all of these feelings.

I am passionate about working with pregnant and postpartum women and  partners/spouses with experiencing symptoms of depression and or anxiety, as well as women struggling with eating disorders, body image, relationship issues, depression and or anxiety unrelated to childbirth, assertiveness and boundaries, communication, low self esteem, substance abuse, and otherissues.

In my approach, I work collaboratively with each client to make decisions about what the client needs to lead a balanced, fulfilling and successful life. I am gentle, yet direct. My goal is to empower each client to define for herself what it means to be a happy andhealthy woman.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond our imagination. It is our light more than our darkness that scares us. We ask ourselves - who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented and fabulous. But honestly, who are you not to be so?"  ~ Marianne Williamson
